Lookdrop 1.8.7 opens the manual camera to everyone, adds long exposures up to 30 seconds on iPhone, and puts a real crop tool in Studio. It also fixes the one bug from 1.8.6 that mattered most. Here is the full list.

Try Manual Controls Before You Buy

Tap A/M on any account and the manual camera opens: live ISO, shutter, white balance, and focus rulers, with the viewfinder following every change. Nothing is locked until you press the shutter. If you are on the free tier, that is the moment Lookdrop asks you to start a Creator trial. Shoot with a creator’s shared Rig that carries manual values and there is no gate at all.

Long Exposure to 30 Seconds

Set the shutter past the sensor’s longest frame and Lookdrop stacks frames in linear light into one clean long exposure. The preview develops from dark as the seconds pass, the record-time chip counts down, and a tap ends the exposure early. Two crosses at the center of the viewfinder show the true center and how far the phone has drifted since the shot began, so you know when to hold still. Light trails, water, and night scenes are now a normal photo on iPhone, with the full exposure time written into the file.

Crop in Studio

Stills and Canvas have a crop tool in the current design language: aspect chips, the reframe controls, a reset, and a tinted confirm. In Stills it is an inline mode, so the graded picture stays right where it is while you crop and the panel slides up like every other tool.

Rigs, Round Two

  • Open a shared Rig link and you can Save Rig, not only apply it. Saved Rigs land in a Shared Rigs folder with the creator’s handle attached.
  • A link cell in the viewfinder holds Save Rig, Share My Rig, and Rigs, so sharing happens without leaving the camera.
  • The share sheet is a square panel with the QR code alone, a light or dark ground, Share Link, Copy Link, and Save Image at 960 pixels for posting.

Explore

  • For You shows a count of new posts since your last visit, on the title, on the tab, and in the menu.
  • Explore uses the standard header bar like Library, so the title and controls are always readable over the hero.

The Big Fix

In 1.8.6, some people came back to the camera after switching apps and found the viewfinder and capture buttons gone. That is fixed, with three separate guards so it cannot return. Two crashes in the camera body during manual control and one at the start of a video take are fixed as well. The camera uses far less memory in the manual panel, which is what caused the crashes in the first place.

More

  • Aperture control on iPhone 18 Pro, in the cell between ISO and Focus, with an Auto stop.
  • Analog camera looks refresh their covers automatically when the artwork changes.
  • The frame-rate chip opens the settings sheet instead of cycling, hardware-locked modes drop the lock glyph, and mode names fit on one line on smaller iPhones.
  • In Reels, Bypass keeps the Log conversion so a before and after compares the same footage.
  • The 9:16 editor panel matches the height of the 4:3 panel on your device.

What To Try First

Go somewhere dark, set the shutter to ten seconds, hold still, and watch the picture arrive.
